Atmospheric Soap Bubble

Hi there.

I was looking for a topic to create a short Instagram reel about.
I came up with trying out and shooting a simple soap bubble on a black background.

What I came up with is astonishing. The whole set is effortless as well.
The soap mixture is 6 parts water, 3 parts dish soap, and 2 parts Glycerin.
The Glycerin helps it to stand a little longer than without.

I took a lens cap and filled it to the top with the mixture. The size of the lens cap is perfect for this.
I putted another cap that i found from a can of spray paint.
Then just grab a Straw of yours and blow a soap bubble in that lens cap.
The easiest way is to start under the surface and follow the bubble up, so don't stay under the liquid. It will turn out in just mess of bubbles. You want one large enough.

The setup is made with just one light source, and it's placed above and slightly behind the subject.
The camera angle is lower, so the edge of the reflection is fully covered on the bubble (so you get a sharp edge of the bubble)
Add a diffusor above the bubble, so you get as soft light as possible.

The settings I came up with is:
Shutter: 1/60, f16 (to get as long sharpness as possible), ISO 1250

and viola.
